Silpada Designs Jewelry with Terri Joyner.

Silpada Designs are handcrafted from the finest .925 sterling silver.
They also offer freshwater pearls, abalone shells, sponge coral,
turquoise, and many others.

Below is the itinerary for the evening:

6:45 – 7:30 pm Cocktails and Jewelry Modeling

7:30 – 9:00 pm Dinner and Order Taking

Fall Menu Now Available

We released our Fall/Winter menu on Wednesday, September 17th.  We have been getting rave reviews on our Cajun Shrimp and Grits, Beef and Polenta, as well as our salads.  The menu is available online in a printer friendly format. We look forward to seeing you soon!


Wine Dinner Details

We will be hosting our first ever wine dinner on Thursday, October 16th.  This is a private function, and as of this writing, only ten seats are available.  Below is the itinerary for the evening:

5:30 pm to 6:30 pm:  "Meet and Greet" in the Lounge area.

6:45 pm:  Dinner begins in the dining room

1st Course:  Our famous crab cakes paired with Ehrhardt Chenin Blanc.

2nd Course:  Parmesan Encrusted Chilean Sea Bass paired with Hillcrest Chardonnay

3rd Course:  Wild-Caught Alaskan Salmon paired with a Chrismont Mezzanotte Rosato

4th Course:  Medallions of Beef and Polenta topped with a Gorgonzola cream sauce, paired with a 1998 Cautivo Rioja

5th Course:  Herb-Seared Lamb Chop with an apricot sauce, paired with DogRidge Shiraz

We will finish the night with a sample of Lanson Black Label Brut Champagne.

At the end of the wine dinner, we will have order sheets, where you can order for one night only, and at retail prices, bottles of the wines sampled during the dinner.  The bottles will be paid for at the end of the dinner, and can be picked up from Fifty Fifty the following Wednesday evening, beginning at 5:30 pm.

The dinner is $50.00 per person, excluding 20% gratuity.  Please call us to make reservations for this special occasion at 252-293-0123.  The deadline is September 30th.


New Fall Menu Coming in September

September 17th will be the night we release our new Fall/Winter menu for your dining pleasure.  It will feature a lot of customer favorites from the past couple of years, along with a couple of new entrée options.  We hope to see you soon!


Back-to-Back Jazz Nights in October

Jazz Night has been so successful this year, that we have decided to offer "Back-to-Back" Jazz Nights!  For October only, we will have Jazz Night on Monday and Tuesday Nights.  Mondays will feature Blue Concept, a trio from Raleigh, featuring guitar, upright bass, and drums.  They will play every Monday in October from 7 pm until 10 pm.  On Tuesdays, the Brad Shackelford group, who have been playing for us over the past two years, will continue to pack our dining room with their familiar set of standards, and a beach classic or two.  They are the group that have made Jazz Nights so popular.  We encourage you to make reservations in advance, as walk-ins usually have a wait of an hour or more.  Its because of your overwhelming support for Tuesday's Jazz Night that has made us create "Back-to-Back" Jazz Night for October.  We appreciate your support!


Our First Wine Dinner is Set for October 16.

After many requests from our customers, Fifty Fifty Lounge & Grill is proud to announce our first ever wine dinner, set for Thursday October 16th.  Mark Horney from Turner Wine Imports will be our guest speaker for the evening.  We will feature wines from our ever-changing wine list, and pair it with some of our classic dishes, as well as new dishes made especially for the occasion.  This evening is reservation only and the cost will be $50.00 per person.  The deadline for this event is Monday, September 30th.  Please call us at 252.293.0123 to make your reservation.

Wesley Shelter Event

Please come join us in supporting the Wesly Shelter on Friday, May 2nd from 7 to 9 pm.  The event is held in Brentwood Shopping Center and we will be co-catering the event along with our friends at Quince Bistro.  Butch El Ramey will be providing the entertainment, a silent auction will be held, and cocktails served.  It is an annual event and the proceeds support the Wesley Shelter, whose mission is to end violence.  Tickets are $50 per person.  Please visit http://www.wesleyshelter.org/ for more information.


Jazz is Back

We are pleased to announce our Spring/Summer 2008 dinner menu will be released this week.  We are making 10 new changes to the menu, including new salads, appetizers, and the most changes to the entree's to date!  We will be posting the menu here as soon as it is ready.  Now, there are more reasons than ever to dine with us!  Don't worry...the Seabass is still on the menu!


Thanks a Million!

Greetings everyone.  Thanks for making January one of the best months ever!  Seriously, I know.  I can't believe January was as busy as it has been.  On behalf of the staff and myself, I want to apologies for those customers we were unable to accommodate due to long wait times for the dining room.  We want to remind you that we encourage you to make reservations. 

We have experienced tremendous growth in the restaurant and want to thank all of you who have gotten us where we are now.  Thanks for all of your positive (and let's be honest, some times not-so-positive) feedback.  We couldn't continue to improve without the feedback, so keep it up!  We want to know what you think.

We have finalized our plans for Valentine's Day.  We have decided not only to offer our current menu, but we will also create a special "Companion" menu for the evening.  It will feature several different appetizers, salads, and entrées not currently offered on our menu.  Be sure to make reservations, because it will be an extremely busy night and we want to make sure your special evening is perfect!  Also, we will be offering a few special wines for the occasion. 

Speaking of wines, we are pleased to announce our newest wine list is now available online.  We wanted to give you a preview of all of the new wines we will be offering starting in February.  Although there is no official offering date as of this writing, rest assured we will be running this new wine menu no later than Valentine's Day.

January News

Greetings, everyone!  We hope you all had a safe and exciting Holiday Season.  We have some updates about the restaurant we wanted to share with you:

1.  We are officially carrying desserts from Sweet Maria's located here in Wilson.  Baked fresh daily, Sweet Maria's carries a number of worldly desserts, which fits the menu and vision of Fifty Fifty perfectly.  Please check the food menu to read the descriptions of these exciting new additions to our menu.

2.  Tuesday's "Jazz Night" is suspended until April.  Two of the guys in the band migrate to the beach for the Winter.  Fear not, we will be resuming this program again in April.

3.  The new wine list is almost finished.  We will be adding a number of varieties on some standards, such as Cabernet Savignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Pinot Grigio.  Also, new to this list, will be Sparkling wines, as well as a "Reserve" list.  The Reserve list will carry bottles priced in the $50 to $100 plus price range.  Also, we will be carrying even more options by the glass.  This will be the largest wine list release to date!

4.  J. Powell recently underwent throat surgery to remove scar tissue around his vocal folds.  He will be  unable to speak until Valentine's Day.  If you need to speak to a manager during the day, please call 252.293.0123 and ask for Christina.  Christina, Josh, or Adam will be more than able to assist you with anything you may need during normal business hours.

Holiday News

Happy Holidays everyone!  We want to thank you for making this the busiest Holiday season for us yet!  We are staying extremely busy, so we recommend calling ahead and making reservations with us. 

We will be closed December 24, 25, & 26, as well as New Year's Eve and Day.  We have some exciting things to look for in the early part of 2008:

1.  We are the exclusive provider of gourmet desserts made fresh daily by Sweet Maria's here in Wilson.  Currently, we are featuring their famous Chocolate Mousse Cake & Estrela do Mar.

2.  Our special Valentine's Day dinner, with a special menu for the evening, as well as romantic live music, and decorations.  Be sure to call for reservations!

3.  Also in February, we will release a new wine menu, with even more selections.

4.  New dinner menu, capturing all of the excitement and ingredients the Spring and Summer have to offer.

 


Dinner with Joe Otos from Owl Ridge Vineyards

On Friday, November 23rd we will be hosting a casual dinner with Joe Otos, winemaker for Owl Ridge & Willowbrook Wines, based in Sonoma County, California. Joe's wines have won numerous awards, and also helped Owl Ridge win "Best New Winery" at the 2006 Wine Literary Awards Tasting.

Joe will be arriving around 7:00 pm. Please call ahead and reserve a table for dinner. Tasting and pricing sheets will be available as well. This will be a very informal meeting. Joe is in town promoting the grand opening of the Carolina Cheese Company and decided to stop by and have dinner and sample us on some of his wines. Needless to say, the staff and myself are very excited to have Joe eat dinner with us!
